On 4-6 September 2024, I had the honor of presenting my research titled Data-In-Flux: Conceptual and Methodological Challenges in the Study of Data On Move at the Data Power Conference in Graz (Austria) and Bangalore (India). The panel, organized by Anu Masso, provided a stimulating environment for scholars and practitioners to explore the complexities of data mobility in an increasingly digital and globalized world.

My presentation focused on the challenges researchers and policymakers face when addressing the fluid and dynamic nature of data. With data constantly on the move, crossing borders, platforms, and regulatory frameworks, new methodological approaches are needed to study its impact on governance, privacy, and social innovation. I explored how AI and decentralized technologies, such as blockchain and Web3, are reshaping the governance of data, raising critical questions about sovereignty, security, and ethical implications.

The conference provided an enriching opportunity to engage with global perspectives on data governance, and I look forward to continuing this research as we navigate the complexities of Data-In-Flux in an AI-driven world.
