30 Apr Smart City? Ermua Postindustrial FabLab paper given at the Conference at Local Development Week on 8th May 2014 in Ermua, Basque Country (Spain)
On 8th May, Dr Calzada will deliver a conference in the Local Development Week organized by Izarra Fundazioa and invited by Ermua municipality entitled: “Smart City? Ermua Postindustrial FabLab”.
—
Synopsis:
Dr Igor Calzada’s conference argues against the so-called Smart City techno-deterministic term, in favour of the recovery of the postindustrial tradition of towns and counties in the broader city-regional context. This approach will be able to assist in a local development driven by critical social innovation strategies. Insofar as the conference forms part of the Local Development Week organized by the Izarra Foundation and the Ermua municipality, it is an starting point to observe the town of Ermua as a Postindustrial FabLab.
